Kollsman Altimeter Setting Indicator Joins the Collection
A precision ground barometer made by Kollsman for Brazil's Air Force meteorological service around 1970–1972 has been added to the collection.
The collection has acquired a , Type 1130-038, serial number 2401. It is a ground-based precision aneroid barometer built for airfield weather stations and control towers. Rather than showing plain station pressure, it continuously displays the altimeter setting, or "Kollsman number", which controllers radioed to aircraft so that crews could set their altimeters before landing.
