New in the Shop: Artistic Barometer — “The Cat at the Window”
A charming vintage-style weather postcard featuring a colour-changing window and a watchful ginger cat is now available in our online shop.
We are pleased to introduce a new addition to our shop: Artistic Barometer — “The Cat at the Window”, a delightful weather-sensitive postcard depicting a cosy Dutch interior with a ginger cat watching the world outside.
The postcard combines nostalgic illustration with a simple chemical principle. Its window is treated with moisture-sensitive cobalt chloride, allowing it to change colour in response to atmospheric humidity: blue indicates fine weather, violet suggests changing conditions, and pink signals damp, potentially rainy weather.
Both decorative and functional, this unusual little weather indicator offers a charming glimpse into the tradition of chemical barometers.
The postcard is now available in our online shop.
