C. P. Goerz: The Company History, Now in Full
The site's article on C. P. Goerz has been rewritten from the ground up into a full company history, from the 1886 protractor business to the 1926 Zeiss Ikon merger and beyond.
The old entry on Goerz covered the essentials and not much more. The new one runs the whole arc: Carl Paul Goerz the travelling salesman who never computed a lens in his life, and Emil von Höegh, the designer Zeiss turned away — whose rejected drawings became the Dagor and sold thirty thousand units in four years.
