Holosteric barometer-altimeter
The Holosteric barometer-altimeter by the renowned firm Naudet, dating back to around 1890, is a true masterpiece of Victorian engineering, encased in an elegant yet simple form. Its tubular brass case with a pendant ring evokes a sense of functional austerity and durability, making it suitable both for daily use and as a collectible piece.
The rotating brass bezel is equipped with an altimeter scale, adding extra functionality to the barometer by allowing it to also serve as an altimeter. The silver-plated brass dial, polished to a mirror-like shine, is adorned with a scale in centimeters of mercury, emphasizing its utilitarian nature and precision, without the need for weather indications in text.
The dial is protected by flat glass with beveled edges, which adds a subtle yet expressive touch of luxury and craftsmanship. The blued steel hand, simple and restrained, is devoid of decorative elements, further enhancing the barometer's refined focus on functionality.
