The company “A. Reballio & Zoon” represents the third generation of a renowned family of barometer makers from the Netherlands, known for their exceptional craftsmanship and high-quality products. The company was officially named in 1840 when Antoni Albertus Martinus Reballio was at the helm alongside his 18-year-old son Angelus Antoni Albertus. Based in Rotterdam at Vissersdijk 21a, the company thrived until Angelus succeeded his father, continuing the business under the same name.
In 1860, the company moved to Vissteeg 111 and became, among other things, the exclusive importer of Eugene Bourdon’s metallic barometers from Paris. Angelus’s son, Albertus Hermanus, born in Rotterdam in 1865, became the last head of the family business in 1904 after his father’s death. He managed the company until its closure in 1925.
