The history of Jules Richard has been extensively revised and expanded, with new research tracing the remarkable Henrard family succession and the company’s later development.
The history of has been substantially reworked with newly researched material on the people who carried the company forward after its founder. Particular attention has been given to Ernest Émile Henrard, Richard’s long-serving commercial director and chosen universal heir, who succeeded him in 1930, and to his son Roger Henrard, aviator, aerial photographer and later head of the company. The expanded history explores this remarkable continuity from Jules Richard through two generations of the Henrard family, including the development of aerial photographic equipment, Roger’s clandestine reconnaissance flights before the Second World War, and the later evolution of Établissements Jules Richard.
