A German carriage barometer, dating from approximately 1955, has been added to the collection. The instrument was most likely manufactured by Barigo.
Its brass-finished case combines a historicising carriage-clock form with the restrained decorative language of post-war West German design. Neoclassical architecture, Rococo-inspired side engraving and distinctly 1950s spherical finials are paired with a minimalist aluminium dial calibrated from 680 to 790 mmHg.
