The BARIGO Barometerfabrik entry has been substantially expanded with newly traced archival material on founder Richard Goes, original company catalogues, and the firm's final years.
The article on has been rewritten and considerably extended.
New material includes contemporary trade-press notices from 1919 and 1939 documenting Richard Goes's entry into the clock trade in Villingen and the relocation of his barometer factory in Esslingen, together with genealogical records covering his birth, family and death. The disputed foundation date — 1925 or 1926 — is now set out with its competing sources rather than resolved silently.
Four original company catalogues have been used as primary evidence: Katalog Nr. 57 (1957) with its gross price list, Katalog Nr. 59 (1959) and its supplement, and the 1979/80 marine catalogue. The last of these allows the ship's-instrument series — PILOT, CORSAR, STAR, NEPTUN, CAPTAIN, YACHT, ADMIRAL, CLIPPER, NAUTILUS, COLUMBUS, VIP, ACE and MARINER — to be listed in full with dial and case dimensions.
The later chapters trace the move from Schwenningen to Dauchingen, the shift into electronic altimeters, the transfer of the brand and production to Feingerätebau K. Fischer in Drebach in late 2024, and the insolvency and liquidation of the remaining company in 2025. A dating guide for collectors and a full chronology round out the entry.
