Object Overview
This Breton Silver Barometer from the 2000s is the result of a collaboration between the French company Barostar (trademark Baromaster) and the renowned Venetian workshop PG-MIANI Argenteria, famous for its craftsmanship in creating silver items. The barometer is made from solid 925 sterling silver, featuring unique hand-embossed details and decorations. PG-MIANI Argenteria is well known for its expertise in working with precious metals, and this barometer is a prime example of their fine craftsmanship.
The barometer is designed in a classic English style. Its hand-embossed silver frame is attached to the body, made from genuine birch wood stained to resemble mahogany, using small decorative nails. The silver is hallmarked "VE193", guaranteeing its authenticity and the 925 sterling quality.
The dial of the barometer displays three measurement systems: millimeters of mercury, inches of mercury, and millibars, making it a versatile and precise instrument. Instead of standard weather indications, the dial features small illustrations of the sun, clouds, and rain, adding an original and artistic touch to the piece.
This barometer is not only a functional instrument but also a work of art, reflecting the craftsmanship and attention to detail characteristic of both French and Italian traditions of working with precious metals.
